Wealcynn

An incredible historic stone farmhouse, barns, gardens and land in a Welsh valley

Period features, Tudor, walled garden, amazing rural location, stone built, barns, outbuildings, land. Located 6 accessible miles from St Asaph on the A55.

Wealcynn is a large stone built historic farmstead with barns, pond, shepherds hut, walled gardens, paddocks and fields – set in the most incredible natural landscape in the Welsh hills beneath an iron age hillfort and next to a large reservoir.

Inside the large hall with huge staircase, flagstone floors, fireplace and beams, the history of this place is palpable, and the inside rooms have been carefully, tastefully and painstakingly restored by its current custodian, all period features retained and enhanced.

The hall, drawing rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms have been gorgeously decorated in period correct paint colours and dressed with antique furniture from the generations of their family who have resided here since the 1800s. Any period film or photoshoot would be fantastic here.

The kitchen is also a wonderful, large space again thoughtfully restored with lovely herringbone bone brick floors, Belfast sink, range cooker and large wood table, with secret cellars!

Outdoors, the setting is breath-taking with the surrounding lands and hills creating the most impressive backdrop. There is a huge walled garden where the peacocks roam around the stone steps, green houses, pond and lawns. Beyond this are further paddocks, orchards and fields with wonderful old trees and pathways. To the side is a perfectly decorated shepherd's hut  - restful and inviting in its own little courtyard.

Countryside and outdoor brands would look amazing here amongst the artfully dilapidated and tumble down stone barns, ancient tractors and friendly livestock. This property is a working farm with the sweetest cows and pet sheep.

The shepherds hut is available for overnight stays.
